Ardent Credit Union Announces Michael Archer as New Board Member

PHILADELPHIA (November 1, 2025) – Ardent Credit Union is pleased to announce that Michael Archer, a retired Managing Director at WTW and current Chair of Ardent's Supervisory Committee, has been appointed to its Board of Directors. Archer brings more than 45 years of actuarial and financial services expertise to the member-owned financial cooperative.

"We're thrilled to welcome Mike to our Board of Directors," said Rob Werner, President and CEO of Ardent Credit Union. "His extensive background in financial leadership, risk management and fiduciary oversight makes him an invaluable addition to our Board. Mike's deep understanding of our credit union through his service on the Supervisory Committee, combined with his decades of executive experience, will be instrumental to Ardent's continued growth and strategic planning."

During his distinguished career at WTW, Archer served in many senior roles, culminating in his service as Managing Director and Head of Retirement North America until his retirement in May 2024. Under his leadership, the $800 million business unit grew revenue and operating margins while expanding market share in actuarial and administrative services. He successfully navigated the business through challenging market conditions by pivoting strategies to focus on high-demand services and implementing innovative solutions for large organizations.

"I'm honored to join Ardent's Board of Directors and build upon my work on the Supervisory Committee," said Archer. “I look forward to contributing my experience in financial leadership and risk management to help Ardent continue serving the Philadelphia region with excellence."

Archer holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration in actuarial science from Temple University, where he graduated summa cum laude. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and an enrolled actuary and received the Bonnie Averbach Distinguished Alumni Award for Excellence in Actuarial Science from Temple University's Fox School of Business in 2014.

Archer has served on Ardent Credit Union's Supervisory Committee since 2022 and was named Committee Chair in May 2024. In this capacity, he has overseen the credit union's compliance with regulations and ensured proper safeguarding of member assets.

Archer resides in Havertown, Pa., with his wife.
