    • Once the Wildcats win a home game, the 4.25% APY remains in effect until they lose at home.
    • After a home loss, the rate resets to the 3.90% APY base rate.

    A season finale win extends the savings celebration

    • If the Wildcats win their last home game of the season, your 4.25% APY bonus rate will remain in effect for the next 30 days.

    FAQs

    The highest APY you’ll earn is 4.25%, which will take effect the day after any eligible home win. Home losses will revert your APY back to the 3.90% APY base rate, but never lower than that.

    Only Villanova Wildcats Men’s Basketball regular season home wins will impact whether you are earning the base rate or the bonus rate. Exhibition, scrimmage, pre-season, Big Five Classic and neutral-site games are excluded from this special offer.

    No. You only make one initial deposit to fund your Slam Dunk CD at account opening.

    As the Slam Dunk CD maturity rate approaches, you will have the opportunity to withdraw the funds from the CD. Otherwise, the CD will automatically renew to a 6-month CD for the APY in effect at that time.

    Withdrawing funds other than earned interest before the maturity date of your CD term will result in a penalty. The penalty for early withdrawal is equal to the smaller of the following two amounts: interest since the date of issuance or renewal or an amount equal to 180 days of interest on the amount withdrawn.

    At least half of the CD balance must be new money, which is considered to be funds not currently on deposit at Ardent within the last 30 days.

The Slam Dunk CD or IRA CD term is 7 months and the initial Annual Percentage Yield is 3.90%. The APY will not fall below the base rate of 3.90% APY, but will increase if the Villanova Men’s Basketball Team secures a Qualifying Victory. A Qualifying Victory is a 2025-26 regular season home game win and excludes exhibition, scrimmage, pre-season, neutral-site or Big Five Classic games. Effective the day after a Qualifying Victory the APY will increase to the bonus rate of 4.25% APY. The bonus rate will remain in effect unless the Villanova Men’s Basketball Team lose at home, which will reduce the Slam Dunk CD or IRA CD to the base rate. If the Wildcats win their last home game of the regular season, the 4.25% APY will remain in effect for the next 30 days. Interest is calculated daily and paid monthly. Minimum deposit to open the Slam Dunk CD is $100 and the maximum deposit is $100,000. All other terms and conditions of the Slam Dunk CD are the same as Ardent Credit Union’s CDs as defined in the Truth in Savings Disclosure. There is a penalty for withdrawal of principal prior to the maturity date. The penalty is equal to the smaller of the following two amounts: interest earned since the date of issuance/renewal or interest earned in the 6 months prior to the date of withdrawal. The CD will automatically renew at maturity to a 6-month CD for the APY in effect at that time unless you notify us. An Ardent membership is required for this product. Membership eligibility required.
